Technical Resources

The Company of Players have a fully equipped sound-proofed technical box featuring a 24 channel computerised lighting board and 8 channel sound mixer.

The box is located at the rear of the theatre and commands a birds-eye view of the stage. It can seat up to four persons and the technical operators are in constant touch with backstage crew via a wireless communications unit.

The lighting operator controls the stage lighting via a computerised board and powered dimmers located at the rear of the theatre above the dressing room. In addition to lighting the stage, the operator is also responsible for house-lighting.

A storage room is located behind the box where lights and associated equipment and accessories, including a cychlorama, are kept.

The 8-4-2 channel sound mixer is fed by a double cassette unit, CD and MiniDisk player. There is a choice of four output channels at both the front and rear of the auditorium. The sound operator is also responsible for the in-house tannoy and backstage monitor speakers.

A library of sound effects is available together with facilities to record specialised sound requirements.
