"Two" is set in a pub, somewhere in the North of England, owned by a bickering married couple bound together by the necessity of keeping the business afloat. The regulars arrive and depart: the old lady, regular as clockwork; the jack-the-lad and his no-nonsense girlfriend; the widower still in love with his dead wife; the big woman and her hen-pecked husband - all with their own stories to tell. Events trigger a fragile movement towards reconciliation between between landlord and landlady as they struggle to come to terms with the one, great, tragic gap in their lives.
