Lizzie Curry is frequently told how plain she is by the males in her family who are keen on marrying her off. As they try to get the local divorced deputy interetsed in Lizzie, outside the Curry Ranch the cattle are dying of drought on a scorching Summer day. Enter Starbuck, a magnetic tale-spinner who promises rain for a mere hundred dollars. Can Starbuck overcome Lizzie's scepticism and bring rain to the desert of her life?
